About The Position

Jefferson Pride Care, located on Redman Avenue, is a Primary Care office available to all Jefferson patients but also specifically serves and supports the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual + communities. Jefferson Pride Care welcomes individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations. The schedule is as follows but subject to change: Monday: 8am-4:30pm Tuesday: 8:30am-5:15pm Wednesday: 10:30am-7pm Thursday: 8:15am-4:30pm Friday: 8am-4:30pm Job Description The Patient Services Associate (PSA) II enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally processing arrival and departure activities associated with visits to the practice/department. Obtains pre certifications and/or pre authorizations for procedures, verifies insurance, referrals and patient demographic information. The PSA II supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients and visitors to maintain an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms. Processes check in and/or check out, point of service activities and/or scheduling of patient appointments via EPIC. Obtains pre certifications and/or pre authorizations for procedures. Maintains efficient flow of practice and escalates patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate. Greets and interacts with patients/visitors in a professional manner, on phone or in person. Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service and/or patient facing healthcare experience preferred.
