Patient Service Technician Position Summary Supports the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization by delivering, setting up, and recovering durable medical equipment (DME), respiratory equipment, and other supplies to patient locations, providing instruction on the proper care and usage of equipment/supplies, manages inventory and provides best in class service. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be 21 and have a clean driving record
  • Driving, standing, walking, and lifting for 8+ hours per day
  • Must be able to regularly lift 55+ lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of applicable experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Models and holds others accountable to the Barnes culture and acts as a coach and mentor for others in the organization.
  • Completes deliveries, new-patient setups, and equipment recoveries efficiently and safely within the established service area and participates in the on-call rotation as assigned.
  • Educates patients on equipment, patient rights, financial responsibility, and collects payments and signatures where applicable; all while providing best in class service.
  • Assesses the patient’s needs and acts accordingly, collaborating with other functions when appropriate to provide exceptional customer service and facilitate whole patient care as efficiently as possible.
  • Protects the safety of patients and self by adhering to established safeguards, including personal protective equipment (PPE), hazardous materials handling, and maintaining situational awareness.
  • Receives, stores, and distributes materials, equipment, and/or supplies in the warehouse; and tracks inventory by performing physical counts and verifying information against inventory control systems.
  • Organizes and loads products/equipment to maximize the efficiency of deliveries and safety, and always maintains security and control of company property.
  • Completes paperwork, charting, and plan of care promptly and accurately and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
