About The Position

The Patient Service Technician is responsible for delivering and picking up equipment from homecare patients. This role involves setting up equipment and instructing patients on its basic use, assisting patients in solving problems regarding equipment use, and scheduling and organizing daily deliveries and pickups according to geographic territory. The technician will load and unload durable medical or infusion equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies onto the delivery vehicle, while complying with all applicable regulatory requirements. The position requires completing necessary paperwork, maintaining vehicle maintenance logs, and ensuring vehicles are in proper working condition. The technician will also respond to emergency delivery calls as needed and may clean and assist with the repair of equipment.

Requirements

  • Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
  • At least one-year related work experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Minimum of three years driving history required.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
  • Must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A. and Joint Commissions regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and picks up equipment from homecare patients.
  • Sets up equipment and instructs patients on the basic use of equipment.
  • Assists patients in solving problems regarding equipment use.
  • Schedules and organizes daily deliveries and pickups according to geographic territory.
  • Loads and unloads durable medical or infusion equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies onto delivery vehicle.
  • Complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Completes necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel.
  • Notifies supervisor of any concerning items discovered in the patient's home.
  • Maintains daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports.
  • Ensures vehicles are in proper working condition.
  • Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed and on an on-call basis.
  • Performs routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Reports malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
