About The Position

The Patient Service Specialist serves as the front desk representative at a Physical Therapy clinic, acting as the first point of contact for all patients. This role is critical to ensuring a positive patient experience while supporting clinicians with administrative and documentation needs. The ideal candidate excels in customer service, multitasking, and healthcare administration.

Requirements

Prior experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Experience with EMR systems and medical data entry
Knowledge of medical terminology
Insurance verification experience, including Medicaid and prior authorizations
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Patient Service / Front Desk Experience
Patient Registration and Check-In/Check-Out
Answering Inbound Phone Calls

Nice To Haves

Prior Physical Therapy clinic experience
Experience supporting multiple providers
Strong data entry accuracy and speed

Responsibilities

Greet patients and manage front desk operations including patient check-in and check-out
Register new patients and schedule follow-up appointments
Answer inbound phone calls and assist patients with general inquiries
Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
Document physician notes and patient information within the EMR system
Perform insurance verification and support Medicaid and prior authorization processes
Balance responsibilities across patient service, phone support, and computer-based tasks (approximately 33% each)
