Patient Service Specialist
About The Position
Looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and focused individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as, excels in time management, multi-tasking, and a faster paced environment. When patients enter our outpatient physical therapy center , we want them to have an exceptional experience – starting at the front desk. That’s where you come in. As a patient service specialist, you’ll manage both the patient side and business side of our center. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Health Care Experience
- Previous Therapy Experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and patients
- Ability to multi-task phone, computer, and in-person interactions
- Ability to use computer scheduling software (with appropriate training)
- Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written direction
- Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions
- Appropriate manual dexterity to enable typing (including 10-key) and mouse use throughout a work day/shift
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout a work day/shift
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs, safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics
- Ability to carry office supplies up to 10lbs
Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
- Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
- Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications
- Regular communication with parties such as therapists, insurance companies, attorney offices, translation companies, market operational leaders and business development team
