Summary The Patient Service Representative / Patient Access Representative is the first point of contact for patients at The Derm. This dual-role position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while efficiently managing patient scheduling, insurance verification, and referral coordination across two clinic locations and multiple providers. Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service in a healthcare setting
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Proficient in basic computer functions.
  • Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Must possess attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors.
  • Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with appointment scheduling and insurance verification preferred
  • 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
  • Ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients in person and by phone, providing a welcoming and professional experience
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments for four providers across two clinic locations
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility.
  • Process and track referrals and prior authorizations as needed.
  • Accurately enter and update patient demographics and insurance information in the system
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding appointment details, insurance coverage, and referral requirements
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and providers to ensure smooth patient flow and access to care
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
