Patient Service Representative
About The Position
SSGA is a leading, fast-paced Gastroenterology practice established in 1971, with 17 physicians and 13 advanced practitioners, including a state-of-the-art Endoscopy Center. The organization strives for excellent service in a compassionate manner. They are seeking an experienced, energetic, and professional individual who is passionate about their work and dedicated to meeting and exceeding the needs of their patients. The company is also willing to train highly motivated and dependable individuals with no prior experience who possess an eagerness to learn and offer excellent teamwork skills. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as a team as well as individually
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years medical office experience
- Previous scheduling experience
- Previous medical office software experience
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls
- Schedule appointments
- Route calls as appropriate to clinical staff
- Confirm insurance is a participating carrier
- Assist with various patient correspondences
- Call patients to schedule appointments from hospital consults and referrals
- Send follow up letters to primary care
