Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Proficiency in EHR systems and computer applications
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain professionalism in a busy environment
- Strong attention to detail, especially in financial and data entry tasks
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in healthcare, patient services, or medical office setting preferred
- Bilingual in one or more of the languages commonly spoken in the community is a plus
Responsibilities
- Greet all incoming patients with a friendly, professional attitude
- Complete new patient registrations and verify patient demographics using EHR systems
- Confirm insurance eligibility, collect payments, and maintain accurate records
- Schedule appointments and assist with pre-visit insurance verification
- Handle incoming calls, route inquiries, and provide helpful information
- Educate patients about sliding fee scale programs and pharmacy preferences
- Maintain daily logs of cash and token distribution
- Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to ensure a smooth patient flow
- Conduct outreach calls to confirm appointments and welcome new HMO plan members
