About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations the Patient Services Representative coordinates and facilitates a variety of functions in support of Student Health, Counseling & Wellness (SHCWS) Services mission, values, and goals and missions. Incumbent functions with a moderate degree of independence and exercises considerable discretion, judgment and confidentiality as required in a clinical office environment. Provides first point-of-contact for clients/patients, customers, and visitors. Gathers pertinent patient data to facilitate service to the client/patient and receipt of payments for service provided. Provides efficient and accurate customer service to clients/patients with their registration and other needs.

Requirements

  • Experience providing reception and clerical duties in an office environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion when responding to routine and non-routine inquiries and assessing urgency of situations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey information clearly and accurately.
  • Fluency in using standard office software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to independently prioritize work assignments.
  • Ability to perform standard clerical procedures and practices.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to obtain BLS CPR and complete FamilyPACT training upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ experience providing direct customer service.
  • Experience working in a medical office and/or counseling center.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records.
  • Familiar with HIPAA
