About The Position

The Patient Services Representative works closely with patients to ensure their first impression at ADVENT exceeds expectations. Responsible for ensuring documentation is appropriately completed, patient payment is received per insurance and works with clinic team members to maintain daily schedule. Additionally, your position ensures patients are aware, informed, heard, and scheduled appropriately. Showing them that their journey with ADVENT can lead to a better-quality life with real solutions. Role also requires cross-training with Medical Assistant duties.

Requirements

  • Prior medical experience preferred
  • Strong customer service focus and understanding of an elevated customer service experience
  • Strong communication skills: phone, verbal and written skills, listening skills and building rapport with patients
  • Solid data entry and technology skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, EHR
  • Great attention-to-detail and accuracy in work
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, brainstorm solutions and make critical decisions
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to teamwork, positive attitude/willingness to get the job done.
  • Read, write and speak fluently in English, with an ability to explain or convey technical information to a broad range of audiences. Excellent time management skills, including ability to work autonomously and with minimal direction, anticipating needs and planning accordingly, taking initiative to organize and prioritize responsibilities and tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Perform and understand basic math functions, including adding, subtracting, calculating percentages that would be typical in insurance payment settings.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and accurately checks patients into EHR using established patient registration check-in protocols.
  • Order Sleep Study device utilizing system.
  • Upload sleep study reports into system.
  • Review of future clinic schedule to ensure insurance and necessary patient documentation is within the patient chart.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Answer call center calls to provide overflow coverage as necessary.
  • Owns opening of clinic and closing of clinic per established guidelines.

  • Order medical supplies and pharmaceuticals as needed, per established protocol
  • Greet, room, and take vitals of patients.
  • Record into the patient’s EHR encounter as necessary per visi.t
  • Ensure clinic patient appointments run in a timely manner, communicating with Physicians and APPs necessary information before they see patients.
  • Sanitize exam rooms after each patient
  • Sanitize equipment used in clinic including instruments, scopes, and specialty procedure equipment.
  • Identify, propose, and implement continual improvements to drive process efficiency, scalability and innovation within the scope of your work that enhances our ability to achieve the ADVENT vision.
  • Support the overall success of the organization and perform other related duties as requested by leadership.
  • Plan and adapt with business growth and strategy, cross-training where necessary to accommodate different situations and locations.
  • Follow all legal and compliance requirements, including HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient privacy.
  • Complete additional responsibilities which may be requested to improve the efficiency of the clinic.
