The Patient Service Representative (PSR) position at Montefiore Medical Group is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience. The PSR plays a crucial part in the patient journey by managing tasks such as registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and billing. They are the frontline point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, and maintaining a positive atmosphere within the medical facility. Additionally, PSRs collaborate with healthcare professionals, utilize electronic health record systems, and adhere to privacy regulations to guarantee the accuracy and confidentiality of patient information. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding Montefiore Medical Group's standards of excellence in patient care and service.

Requirements

  • Candidate should be able to perform a variety of clerical functions to ensure the efficient operation of a clinic or physician's office.
  • Candidate should have a basic knowledge of insurance, computer skills, be able to schedule appointments and coordinate diagnostic services and referrals to specialists.
  • The candidate should also be comfortable with a dynamic, fast-paced daily schedule and be able to adapt well to change.
  • The candidate must also have strong time management skills and great attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of clerical functions to ensure the efficient operation of a clinic or physician's office.
  • Schedules appointments and coordinates diagnostic services and referrals to specialists.
  • Verifies insurance coverage status and collects and records payments utilizing automated systems.
  • Process patient check-out, including providing necessary paperwork and instructions.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate efficient patient care.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient medical records.
