Join Our Team: We are searching for a Patient Service Representative for our Gastroenterology Consultants office located at 3555 Sunset Office Drive! Opportunity: Full-time opening Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. No nights, weekends, or holidays Outpatient clinical practice Day-to-Day: Perform patient check-in Schedule patient appointments Collect co-payments Verify insurance Register patients/update patient demographics Answer the telephone Balance monies at day end May be required to enter physician-related charges into the computer May be required to bill hospital/nursing home charges Who we are seeking ( preferred ) : The Patient Service Representative is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.

Requirements

• Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.

Nice To Haves

• 1 or more years of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO’s, PPO’s, etc.
• PC/Windows proficiency.
• Medical coding familiarity.
• Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
