About The Position

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Patient Service Representative for their Birmingham, AL clinic. This role is responsible for managing the patient check-in process, updating patient personal and insurance information in the computer system, operating a multi-line phone system, handling medical records filing and maintenance, and collecting co-pays and cash payments. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be ready to make an impact daily.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required
Proficient in basic computer functions
Ability to learn new software quickly
Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Must possess attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors
Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times
Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others

Nice To Haves

1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred
Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred

Responsibilities

Performs opening and closing clinic duties
Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance
Scans documents into electronic health record
Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day
Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day
Schedules follow up appointments as needed
Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record
Orders clinic office supplies
Sells and tracks cosmetic products
Distributes mail
Prepares for next day scheduled appointments
