About The Position

The Central Support Team is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Per Diem Patient Services Representative (PSR) to assist with key administrative and insurance-related workflows. This role supports smooth patient access, timely processing of authorizations, and essential back-office functions across multiple service areas. Candidates should be adaptable, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional administrative or healthcare coursework preferred.
  • Experience with insurance processes, authorizations, or referral management strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with OnBase, EHR systems, and healthcare workqueues is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to respond to per diem scheduling needs on short notice.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and patient-centered service.

Responsibilities

  • Submit initial authorizations, reauthorizations, and request end-date extension accurately and within required timelines.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to insurance companies to confirm status, request updates, and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Complete data entry from OnBase, ensuring all information is accurately captured in the appropriate systems and referrals.
  • Perform workqueue follow-up, clearing, updating, and documenting actions according to department guidelines.
  • Process and send faxes, maintain fax records, and ensure appropriate documentation is uploaded or indexed.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support general Central Support functions, including scheduling assistance, documentation updates, and workflow troubleshooting.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental procedures, payer requirements, and HIPAA standards.
  • Accurately enter, update, and manage patient information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Troubleshoot scheduling or registration issues and escalate as needed.
  • Follow department workflows to ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy (HIPAA), and organizational standards.
  • Assist with special projects or high-volume periods within Central Support.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by providing coverage for planned and unplanned staffing needs.
