Job Summary The Patient Services Representative – Urgent Care Center serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors in a fast-paced clinical environment. The front office position plays a vital role in ensuring and exceeding the expectations of the patient. This role is responsible for patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and collecting payments, while ensuring a positive and professional patient experience. The Patient Services Representative supports the daily operations of the urgent care center through effective communication, customer service, and administrative accuracy. Essential Functions Greets patients and visitors promptly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming and courteous environment. Registers patients by verifying demographic, insurance, and financial information accurately and efficiently. Collects copays and balances, posts payments, and provides receipts in accordance with facility protocols. Schedules follow-up appointments and coordinates referrals as directed by clinical staff or providers. Answers multi-line phones, responds to patient inquiries, and routes calls to appropriate departments. Ensures all required forms, consents, and documents are completed and scanned into the electronic medical record (EMR). Analyzes health insurance benefits, insurance eligibility and obtains necessary authorizations or referrals as needed. Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the front desk, waiting area, and shared workspaces. Communicates effectively with clinical and non-clinical team members to support efficient patient flow. Maintains confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and OSHA compliance as well as all organizational policies. Support staffing and operational needs by traveling to other Urgent Care locations as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Complies with all policies and standards.
