Patient Service Representative – Cardiology (Hybrid)
Focused scheduling and insurance coordination role.
No inbound phone queue. No copay collection. No front desk duties.
Columbia, MD • 4 days onsite • 1 remote
$18–$20/hour • Full-Time • Weekday business hours
This PSR role is dedicated to managing follow-up scheduling from EMR task lists generated by NP orders. You are not managing a phone queue or greeting patients. You are protecting provider schedules and ensuring follow-up care is handled correctly.
Your role keeps providers full and patients on track.

Requirements

• 2+ years healthcare scheduling or patient access experience
• Strong insurance eligibility and referral experience
• EMR/EHR proficiency
• Ability to manage task lists independently
• Professional phone and written communication

Nice To Haves

• Cardiology or specialty clinic experience
• Experience with centralized or virtual scheduling
• Prior authorization support

Responsibilities

• Work EMR task list from NP orders (ex: “return to clinic”)
• Schedule follow-up appointments only (no testing coordination)
• Run insurance eligibility and confirm active coverage
• Ensure referrals are secured and on file
• Assist with prior authorizations
• Manage reminder system and reduce no-shows
• Refill canceled slots quickly and protect provider schedules
• Respond to admin pool messages
• Print, fax, and mail patient forms and visit summaries
• Support additional workflow tasks as needed
