Join Our Team: We are searching for a Patient Service Representative for our Fenton Family Medicine office located at 714 Gravois Road! Opportunity: Full-time opening Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m., Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. No nights, weekends, or holidays Outpatient clinical practice Day-to-Day:

Requirements

Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.
1 or more years of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO’s, PPO’s, etc.
PC/Windows proficiency.
Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.

Nice To Haves

Medical coding familiarity.
The Patient Service Representative is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.

Responsibilities

Perform patient check-in/check-out
Schedule patient appointments
Collect co-payments
Verify insurance
Register patients/update patient demographics
Answer the telephone
Balance monies at day end
May be required to enter physician-related charges into the computer
May be required to bill hospital/nursing home charges
