Praxis Health Advanced Primary Care, is seeking a candidate interested in serving as our next Patient Service Representative in Portland, OR for a full-time position. We are looking to add a key player to the front office team, who will play an integral part in making sure patients get the care they need. Our new team member will be someone who learns quickly, works hard, pays attention to detail- and if you're an overachiever, bonus points! This role will be the first point of contact when patients arrive or call us on the phone. We expect that the ideal Patient Service Representative will be eager, professional and dependable. This position is customer service and patient focused, so we are searching for someone who is comfortable and willing to help our patients schedule appointments and answer questions while making patients feel comfortable and the most important person of our day. Requirements

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred; Minimum 1 year (preferred 2+ years)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills in person and over the phone
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Maintain patient records and update patient information as needed
  • Ability to reliably arrive to work on time
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer and calculator; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, mobility to complete errands for deliveries, or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
  • Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Greets, screens, and schedules in-person patients
  • Performs reception duties including but not limited to answering and screening telephone communication, relaying messages, questions, and other relevant information between patients and their clinical team
  • Inputs information into electronic health records and other support services platforms
  • Verify insurance information and collect co-payments
  • Prepares and processes correspondence and answers routine medical administrative inquiries
  • Obtains, verifies, and updates patient information and provides support services to patients and medical staff
  • Assists in medical record maintenance including retrieving and sending to offices and individuals as requested and required by state and federal laws
  • Ensures scheduling accuracy for ease and best use of provider and patient time
