Esse Health is currently seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative for our Gastroenterology Consultants office in Sunset Hills! Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Summary: The Patient Service Representative will be responsible for making outbound calls to schedule patients for procedures. The PSR must enter the patient and procedure information correctly into the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The PSR must project a positive image at all times and maintain an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO's, PPO's, etc.
• Ability to recognize priority or emergency phone calls
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, both on the telephone and in person, including patients who are angry or upset
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to sit at a desk and answer the telephone/perform data entry up to 8 hours a day
• Proficient with Windows-based PC environment

Nice To Haves

• Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent
• 1 or more years of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting
