About The Position

The Patient Services Representative is responsible for scheduling and/or checking patients into the department and for the representation of patients and families in non-medical matters pertaining to their needs, comfort, and personal satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Typing and computer skills.
  • Six months experience in a related field.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all applicable customers and age groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with physicians, technical staff, phlebotomists, nursing, and ancillary departments.

  • Detail-oriented in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patients and check them into the department.
  • Represent patients and families in non-medical matters.
  • Request orders from ordering providers.
