The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is responsible for managing patient check-in, check-out, and appointment scheduling, while consistently delivering excellent customer service. Key duties include greeting new and established patients, assisting with registration forms, obtaining and scanning identification and insurance information, and updating patient demographics. The PSR collects co-pays, processes payments, and handles outstanding balances by coordinating with the billing office for payment agreements. This role also involves scheduling follow-up appointments, lab work, and procedures, as well as managing appointment cancellations and reschedules. Additionally, the PSR verifies insurance eligibility, processes benefit correspondence, handles outgoing mail, sorts and distributes faxes, and assists other front desk and medical records staff.
