The role involves completing the registration process for walk-in patients, verifying insurance benefits, and communicating payment expectations to patients. The PSR also identifies patients needing financial assistance and collaborates with Financial Advocates to coordinate financial resources. The position requires monitoring patient flow, performing visit closures, scheduling patient visits, and maintaining excellent public relations with patients and clinical staff. The PSR must also stay informed about Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements.
