About The Position

The Patient Services Representative at Bon Secours will act as the primary contact for patients and the community, ensuring efficient processing of patient referrals, registrations, and medical records. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and communication skills, contributing to the overall patient experience in the Hematology & Oncology department.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED.
  • Prior experience in the healthcare field or a related area is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office, Cadence, and Connect care preferred but not required.
  • Possesses problem-solving skills and basic computer skills.
  • 40 WPM typing skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all patients and the community.
  • Receive and process patient referrals and registrations.
  • Verify patient demographics and obtain insurance cards and identification.
  • Update medical records accurately and efficiently.
  • Schedule appointments and transcribe orders.
  • Explain financial options to patients.
  • Maintain patient flow and inform the Supervisor of any issues.
  • Coordinate and prioritize bed placement needs.
