About The Position

The Patient Service Representative position is located in Elmhurst, IL, and involves working in different specialty suites, including Nephrology, Endocrinology, and Pulmonary. This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, with office hours varying from Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM and 7:00 PM, and one Saturday per month from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The role includes providing front desk coverage, answering calls, scheduling appointments, and registering new patients in the EPIC system. Additional responsibilities include verifying insurance eligibility, processing patient charges, and providing general office support.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Keyboard and computer skills.
• A valid driver's license is required if performing duties at an off-site location.
• Maintain automobile liability coverage if using a personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of three months previous business office or healthcare-based experience.
• Previous insurance or managed care experience preferred.
• Medical terminology or coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide front desk coverage under general supervision.
• Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments.
• Greet patients and register new patients in EPIC.
• Schedule laboratory and off-site diagnostic tests as requested by physicians.
• Verify insurance eligibility and interpret covered benefits.
• Process patient charges by totaling fees, applying insurance coverage, calculating adjustments, and recording payments in the computer system.
• Assist with clinic set-up and other office support tasks.
