The Patient Service Representative II at Silver Cross Hospital is responsible for coordinating after-visit activities, including the collection and review of practice-specific forms, communicating payment policies, collecting payments, and assisting with scheduling follow-up appointments. This role ensures that pre-visit clearing for patients is completed on the date of service, contributing to a seamless patient experience.

  • Coordinate all after visit activities including collection, review, and update of practice-specific forms.
  • Print the After Visit Summary (AVS) and communicate payment policies regarding amounts due for current services and prior balances.
  • Collect payments and assist with scheduling follow-up appointments and procedures.
  • Ensure pre-visit clearing for the patient on the date of service if these activities have not been fully completed in advance.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience and in-depth knowledge of insurance preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff, and other customers.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to use independent thinking, sound judgment, and creativity when resolving customer issues.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and effectively handle challenging situations.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use personal computers and select software applications.
