The position involves providing excellent customer service during every patient interaction, creating working relationships with hospital departments and provider offices, and scheduling appointments using the correct Cerner Solution while following department templates and provider protocols. The role also includes providing patients with instructions related to their appointment type, performing pre-registration functions within Cerner, and obtaining or verifying demographic and insurance information on every call. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for having a working knowledge of accepted insurances, insurance eligibility software, and websites, as well as obtaining insurance eligibility and discussing discrepancies. Communication of policies regarding patient out-of-pocket responsibilities, discussing financial options, and directing patients to financial counseling if needed are also key responsibilities. The role requires completing outbound calls to schedule appointments, verifying appointments, and pre-registering patients while staying updated on medical terminology. The candidate will direct patients to the correct office or department, provide phone numbers, and transfer calls as necessary. Responsibilities are subject to change.
