About The Position

The position is for part-time Front End Staff at Advocate Health, specifically in the AMG Westhaven department. The staff will work approximately 24 hours per week, with shifts typically scheduled from 7am to 7pm at either the Oshkosh or Fond du Lac Urgent Care Clinics. The role involves acting as the first point of contact for patients, providing reception services in an outpatient department or clinic setting. Responsibilities include greeting and registering patients, completing necessary forms, obtaining demographic and insurance information, collecting co-payments, and scheduling appointments. The staff will also respond to routine requests for information, answer telephone calls, and ensure accurate patient information is maintained.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office or similar applications.
  • Training or experience in keyboarding/data entry with an emphasis on speed and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the first point of contact for patients by providing outpatient department and/or clinic reception.
  • Greets and registers patients, completes necessary forms, obtains demographic and insurance information.
  • Collects co-payments, posts payments, and updates basic patient account information.
  • Schedules new and follow-up patient appointments.
  • Responds to routine requests for information from patients and visitors.
  • Answers telephone, screens calls, and takes messages.
  • Verifies insurance coverage and collects co-pays, deductibles, and previous balances.
  • Provides accurate information regarding test preparations and patient arrival times.
  • Updates insurance and financial responsibility data as changes occur.
  • Identifies, reports, and resolves registration problems.
  • Monitors patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous care.
  • Offers assistance to patients, including arranging transportation and providing directions.
  • Performs visit closure, including checking out patients and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Files, retrieves, and delivers patient information and completes required documentation.
