About The Position

The Patient Service Representative Float 1 travels to various clinics and locations on an "as needed" basis. This role involves managing patient check-in and check-out duties, greeting patients, answering phones, verifying patient demographic information, determining the correct insurance to attach to visits, collecting appropriate documentation, collecting copays, posting patient charges, and handling cashiering processes within policy. Additional responsibilities include appointment scheduling and assigned clerical tasks. The position demands exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work with minimal supervision. All duties must be performed confidentially, professionally, and personably, and other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Six months of customer service, general office, healthcare related, or vocational training experience
  • Proficient use of computerized scheduling and Windows applications
  • Proficient use of multiple-line telephone, copier, scanner and fax
  • Ability to accurately file numerically and alphabetically
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Communicates distinctly in person and on the telephone
  • Processes information appropriately
  • Capable of making good decisions
  • Comprehends verbal and written instructions
  • Requires adequate visual, hearing and tactile acuity to proficiently perform essential duties
  • Requires adequate smell and touch to identify potential hazards
  • Requires and must maintain valid California driver's license
  • Requires and must maintain auto liability insurance
  • Requires and must maintain a good driving record

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
