About The Position

The Patient Service Representative is responsible for greeting patients and arranging for the efficient and orderly registration of patients. This role ensures that accurate patient and insurance information is collected and that patients are made aware of clinic policies and procedures. The representative answers telephone calls, addresses billing questions from patients, processes medical records requests, and handles general patient account functions. This position requires access to confidential patient information and involves making frequent decisions or actions following general procedures, often without clearly defined precedents. A high degree of mental alertness and close visual attention to details is necessary, along with diplomacy and a professional image when dealing with patients, families, visitors, and clinic personnel. The Patient Service Representative is the initial point of service contact for clinic customers, making a positive first impression essential. Attendance is a critical function of this job.
