About The Position

The Patient Service Facilitator is a part-time role focused on providing support and assistance to patients and their visitors within a healthcare setting. This position serves as a liaison between patients, their families, and clinical staff, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care. The facilitator greets patients, directs them to appropriate areas, and addresses their needs while maintaining patient privacy and comfort.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year related work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and significant others upon arrival and directs them to the appropriate area.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Operating Room, PACU, and significant others while the patient is in the Operating Room or PACU.
  • Gathers information about patient status and provides reassurance to patients and visitors.
  • Immediately communicates clinical concerns to a clinical team member.
  • Covers some responsibilities of the unit receptionist and/or nursing attendant as needed.
  • Coordinates patient visitors, ensuring patient privacy and accompanying individuals as needed.
  • Assists patients in accessing hospital services not directly available at the unit level.
  • Attends and actively participates in unit staff meetings.
  • Performs related duties as required.
