About The Position

Sentara Healthcare is currently hiring for a Patient Services Coordinator position at Sentara Belle Harbor Sleep Disorder Ambulatory in Suffolk, VA. We are a 4 bed AASM accredited facility located at Sentara Independence. Join us in providing excellent patient care and great outcomes! The Patient Services Coordinator coordinates activities for specific physician practices, including insurance verification/obtaining precertification, scheduling, pre-registration, and order transmission (faxing). The purpose is to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization. This role maintains statistics and acts as a liaison between clinical testing sites and physicians' offices.

Requirements

• Previous Healthcare Experience.
• High School or Equivalent.
• Two of the four skill levels required: 1. Two years of experience in a healthcare environment, or 2. Completion of healthcare-related certificate program or 3. Associate's Degree or higher, or 4. Transferable skills (i.e., 1 year or more in a call center, customer service, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities for specific physician practices.
• Verify insurance and obtain precertification.
• Schedule appointments and manage pre-registration.
• Transmit orders via fax.
• Ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials.
• Maintain statistics related to patient services.
• Act as a liaison between clinical testing sites and physicians' offices.
