About The Position

Morrison Healthcare is hiring immediately for part-time Patient Server positions at Mary Washington Hospital. The role involves patient food service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, delivery, and pick-up. The position requires a friendly and caring attitude towards patients, compliance with dietary restrictions, and interaction with nursing staff to ensure patients' food needs are met. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean working environment and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Computer technical skills to operate hospital systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit a friendly, caring attitude to patients when taking menu selections and delivering trays.
• Take patients' menu selections prior to each meal.
• Comply with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets.
• Offer alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet.
• Assemble trays according to patients' menu selections in a timely manner.
• Interact with nursing staff to ensure patients' diet prescriptions are accurate.
• Retrieve trays from patients' rooms.
• Maintain accurate and current information for each patient on assigned unit(s).
• Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO or on liquid diets.
• Communicate any patient-related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality and patients' rights policy.
• Contribute to patient satisfaction goals by providing quality service.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary working environment.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food supplies.
• Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in corporate policies.
• Identify and utilize cleaning chemicals following directions recommended by manufacturers.
• Utilize equipment in performing job functions according to safety procedures.
• Follow facility and departmental safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in drills as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
