About The Position

TouchPoint is hiring immediately for part-time Patient Server positions at My Michigan Medical Center Saginaw. The role involves serving food to patients, taking menu selections, and ensuring dietary restrictions are met. The position requires a friendly attitude and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. No prior experience is required as training will be provided. The pay rate is fixed at $15.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Computer technical skills to operate hospital systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit a friendly, caring attitude to patients when taking menu selections and delivering trays.
• Take patients' menu selections prior to each meal.
• Comply with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets.
• Offer alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet.
• Assemble trays according to patients' menu selections in a timely manner.
• Interact with nursing staff to ensure patients' diet prescriptions are accurate.
• Retrieve trays from patients' rooms.
• Maintain accurate and current information for each patient on assigned unit(s).
• Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO or on liquid diets.
• Communicate any patient-related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality and patients' rights policy.
• Contribute to patient satisfaction goals by providing quality service.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary working environment.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food supplies.
• Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in corporate policies.
• Identify and utilize cleaning chemicals following directions recommended by manufacturers.
• Utilize equipment in performing job functions according to safety procedures.
• Follow facility and departmental safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in drills as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
