Patient Scheduling & Registration Specialist
About The Position
Recover is a startup dedicated to improving the effectiveness, accessibility, and affordability of addiction treatment and mental healthcare. They partner with governments to leverage technology and medicine for better patient outcomes. Their program is a tech-enabled treatment approach for individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges, utilizing a harm reduction strategy and focusing on marginalized communities. The team comprises experienced professionals from prestigious institutions and government backgrounds. This role is fully remote and requires an organized, self-motivated individual comfortable in a fast-paced, client-centered setting. The position reports to the Head of Partnerships.
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- 1+ year of experience in a client-facing role involving phone-based outreach, intake, admissions, scheduling, or engagement.
- Familiarity with healthcare.
- Comfortable working independently and managing a high volume of calls and follow-ups.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and explain processes clearly.
Nice To Haves
- Certified or Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor (RADT, CADC-I or higher, or equivalent).
- Experience with EHR systems.
- Experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings.
- Lived experience with substance use disorders.
Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls from patients seeking treatment.
- Make outbound calls to referred individuals, building rapport and sharing information about Recover's services.
- Follow up with prospective clients who need additional outreach or are awaiting insurance enrollment.
- Confirm insurance status using verification portals.
- Search and manage client records in the electronic health record, creating new charts or updating existing ones as needed.
- Walk clients through enrollment documents and explain the sign-up process.
- Provide warm hand-offs to other resources when clients are not eligible for Recover's services.
- Schedule initial appointments based on client preferences for timing, provider, and format.
- Re-engage clients who were previously in treatment, helping them reconnect to services and continue their recovery journey.
