The Patient Scheduler I position is a vital role within the healthcare system, primarily responsible for pre-registering and scheduling patients for various appointments, procedures, tests, and other services. This role requires a commitment to providing timely, professional, and courteous service to patients. The scheduler will handle incoming calls, manage follow-up and referral work queues, and ensure that ticket scheduling is completed efficiently. Communication with patient care teams is essential to guarantee that patients receive appropriate and efficient care. Additionally, the scheduler will complete patient checkouts, schedule follow-up appointments as directed by physicians, and provide patients with cost estimates and itineraries for their upcoming appointments. As a Level I Patient Scheduler, the individual is expected to be proficient in scheduling multiple service lines within the same market and one service line across Essentia Health. Cross-training will be provided to ensure coverage as needed, allowing for flexibility and adaptability in the scheduling process. This position plays a crucial role in the overall patient experience, ensuring that all scheduling tasks are handled with accuracy and care, contributing to optimal clinical outcomes and customer service satisfaction.
