The Patient Schedule Coordinator position at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, part of Advocate Health, is a full-time role. This coordinator is responsible for scheduling clinical appointments, coordinating extensive laboratory and diagnostic testing, and making judgments over the telephone regarding patient urgency. The role involves complex coordination among WFUHS physicians, external physicians, patients, nurses, and outside testing laboratories to ensure all necessary tests are performed and paperwork is complete. Key duties also include preparing patient charts, answering inquiries, resolving patient issues, assisting in training, processing transaction editing system (TES) files, performing medical coding, coordinating surgeries, and handling financial duties such such as insurance authorization and billing assistance.
