About The Position

The Patient Safety Observer position at Endeavor Health is a full-time role located in Elmhurst, requiring work hours from 7 PM to 7:30 AM with rotating schedules every other weekend and holiday. The role involves observing and monitoring patients under the direct supervision of the department manager, clinical leader, or charge nurse, providing compassionate care and ensuring a safe environment for patients in need of supervision.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of Care Companion class, including on-the-job training, within two weeks of position start date.
  • CPR BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Ability to read and exchange information with patients and others.
  • Basic level of analytical ability to read and understand simple instructions and maintain logs.
  • Basic communication skills to exchange information and understand instructions.
  • Patience and compassion for listening to patient worries and concerns.
  • Physical stamina to remain alert and attentive to patients.
