About The Position

Job Summary The Patient Safety Companion will remain with a patient for a designated timeframe to maintain the patient’s safety (i.e. prevention of falls, wandering or disruptions of patient care).

Requirements

• Minimum Required 1 year work experience
• Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
• Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• BLS within 15 days

Nice To Haves

• Preferred/Desired 1 year work experience within healthcare setting

Responsibilities

• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Remain with assigned patient at all time.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency, escalating for the appropriate response.
• Assist with ambulation/toileting/transportation.
• Performs direct patient care duties as assigned under the direction of licensed nursing personnel.
• Perform duties in a manner that is consistent with established policies and procedures.
• Provide patient safety
• Document in the electronic medical record.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
