About The Position

The Patient Safety Attendant at Atrium Health Cleveland is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for patients by providing constant observation as delegated by the Registered Nurse. This role involves documenting patient information, communicating effectively with the nursing team, and assisting in creating a ligature-resistant environment. The attendant must notify the licensed nurse of any immediate patient safety or care needs and foster positive communication between patients and staff. Adherence to all policies and procedures is essential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• CPI certification required prior to conducting patient observation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment and remain with the patient at all times.
• Document required information during the patient observation experience.
• Perform handoff communication with the Registered Nurse regarding pertinent patient information.
• Assist nursing team in maintaining a ligature-resistant or ligature-free environment.
• Notify and update the licensed nurse of immediate patient safety, patient care, and staff needs.
• Foster positive and professional communication between patients and staff.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
