Schedule Commitment: Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. Shifts: Patient Safety Associates work 8-hour shifts. Shift times: day shift start: 0630am-3pm Evening shift start: 2:30pm-11pm Night shift start: 10:30pm-7am The work schedule commitment for this position requires the following: Commitments: Per diem: 64 hours in a 6-week schedule period with 16 Saturday hours, 16 Sunday hours, 32 weekdays hours. The 64 hours must be the completed during the assigned shift time. All additional hours worked are flexible with shift times. Work one summer and one winter holiday. Not benefited. PT: 24 hours/week; work every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible. FT: 40 hours/week; work every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible. Jefferson recognized Holidays include: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Jefferson nursing Hallmark days include: New Year’s Eve, Christmas Eve, Day After Thanksgiving, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and Super Bowl Sunday.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • BLS through the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • Behavioral Health Sciences interest preferred

Responsibilities

  • The Safety Associate works under the supervision of a licensed professional to provide constant observation of assigned patients and intervention if necessary to keep those patients safe.
  • Patient Safety Associate maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients.
  • They do not provide any direct patient care.
  • 1:1 observation: usually the assigned role, expected to be within arms reach and keep the patient in eye sight at all times, while redirecting them, preventing harmful behaviors, and noting changes in patient behaviors
  • Continuous rounder: assigned to multiple rooms and instructed to enter room, assess patient and environment, and then move on to the next room on a continuous basis.
