This Patient Safety-focused role will serve patients who require more individualized activities to enhance focus while ensuring safety. The patient population will consist of patients recovering from Stroke, Brain Injury, and other conditions that impact memory, focus, cognition, and the ability to consume food and liquids safely and/or independently. Requirements

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS through AHA is required.

Nice To Haves

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant
• Certification as a nursing assistant
• Experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)

Responsibilities

• Help expand a Safety Coach Program.
• Utilize all the skills of a Nursing Assistant while specializing in a unique patient population.
• Serve patients who require more individualized activities to enhance focus while ensuring safety.
• Support unit and patient room rounds focused on patient safety program compliance.
• Be flexible in assignment and patient scope based on the overall needs of the unit.
