This position is for a Patient Safety Assistant in the Emergency Department, working 32 hours per week, specifically from 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with an every other weekend commitment and a holiday rotation. The role involves direct and continuous observation of patients, participating in patient rounding, ensuring environmental safety, answering call lights, restocking supplies, transporting patients, cleaning equipment, completing competency and documentation, and communicating patient behavior changes to the Registered Nurse. The assistant will also be involved in quality improvement studies and activities, consider cultural beliefs, and utilize interpreter services when needed. All duties must comply with safety laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
