About The Position

The Patient Representative serves as the initial point of contact in a clinic setting, responsible for performing check-in/check-out functions and booking patient appointments. This role emphasizes compliance, confidentiality, and the promotion of the organization's mission and philosophy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience using a PC in a Windows environment required.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance preferred.
  • Experience working in a medical setting preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Excellent computer, 10-key, and keyboarding skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment required.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Windows operating system.
  • Ability to engage others and adapt responses to meet their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Books appointments utilizing computer system and confirms demographic information.
  • Greets patients and checks them in on the computer system.
  • Verifies insurance eligibility using online resources.
  • Ensures appropriate paperwork is complete and scans insurance cards as needed.
  • Collects payments from patients and balances the drawer for end-of-day deposits.
  • Prints face sheets, receipts, and other necessary documents.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of emergencies and patient arrivals.
  • Confirms patient appointments in advance and runs reschedule reports.
  • Verifies Worker's Compensation claims and ensures paperwork is complete.
  • Assists patients with setting up payment plans and issues receipts for payments.
  • Books follow-up appointments and adheres to company policies including OSHA and HIPAA compliance.
  • Maintains regular and dependable attendance and follows core competencies set by the company.
