The Patient Representative functions as an extension of the provider within a Physician Practice, requiring consistent customer service skills. This role is crucial for ensuring safe and accurate delivery of care and follow-up by obtaining precise demographic information from patients at each visit. Key responsibilities include patient scheduling, preregistration, registration, and insurance authorization for outpatient departments.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • One year experience in administrative support or customer service required
  • Ability to answer and direct phone calls and manage reception
  • Excellent organization and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years experience in medical office preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology & hospital scheduling preferred

Responsibilities

  • Act as an extension of the provider in a Physician Practice
  • Exemplify customer service skills consistent with that of the practice
  • Obtain accurate demographic information from patients at every visit to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care and follow-up care
