The Patient Representative functions as an extension of the provider within a Physician Practice, requiring consistent customer service skills. This role is crucial for ensuring safe and accurate delivery of care and follow-up by obtaining precise demographic information from patients at each visit. Key responsibilities include patient scheduling, preregistration, registration, and insurance authorization for outpatient departments.

Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
One year experience in administrative support or customer service required
Ability to answer and direct phone calls and manage reception
Excellent organization and communication skills

Nice To Haves

Two or more years experience in medical office preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology & hospital scheduling preferred

Responsibilities

Act as an extension of the provider in a Physician Practice
Exemplify customer service skills consistent with that of the practice
Obtain accurate demographic information from patients at every visit to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care and follow-up care
