Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Customer service experience in a medical office setting.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of experience with medical terminology.
  • Experience as a medical receptionist.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in eClinicalWorks.

  • Relevant vocational coursework related to medical administration.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes and greets patients/clients/visitors in a friendly manner.
  • Schedules patient flow to the clinic based on predetermined appointment arrangements.
  • Screens patients for updated demographics and informs them of necessary information for their visit.
  • Compiles and records medical charts, reports, and correspondence.
  • Interviews patients to complete insurance and privacy forms.
  • Receives insurance co-pay payments and posts amounts to patient accounts.
  • Schedules and confirms patient appointments, check-ups, and physician referrals.
  • Answers telephones and directs calls to appropriate staff.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and secures protected health information.
  • Assists with daily patient flow in various areas as needed.
  • Verifies patients by reading patient identification.
  • Orders medical supplies according to department needs.
  • Participates in staff and department meetings and shares knowledge acquired.
  • Checks medical records and follows up on obtaining missing results prior to appointments.
