The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC is looking for a one year fixed term Patient Relations Specialist to join its Clinical Affairs team. The Patient Relations Specialist will support the School of Dentistry in its mission to educate outstanding dental professionals and provide excellent care to and service to our dental patients. In this fast paced environment, the Patient Relations Specialist will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to: Manage the patient feedback website by responding to patient inquiries. Manage the process of obtaining language interpreters by assisting students when needed. Assist with sending patient letters in accordance with our mailing systems. Respond to patient complaints. Serve as liaison for students and communicate directly with the patients. Fulfill requests for patient records (e.g., from patients, attorneys, government). Provide administrative support such as purchasing and scheduling meetings when necessary. Update patient status notes into the electronic health record (EHR) application. Other duties as assigned. We are seeking a Patient Relations Specialist with excellent communication and customer service skills who can work independently and deliver strong results. The ideal candidate will have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and Spanish proficiency is highly preferred. FIGHT ON! The hourly range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision, multi-task, organize, and respond to competing deadlines and requests in a calm and productive manner. Proactive in all endeavors.
