The Office of the Patient Experience at UI Health Care is seeking a half-time Patient Relations Specialist. This role serves as a patient relations liaison between healthcare consumers and the administration, staff, and physicians of UI Health Care. The specialist is responsible for interacting with patients, management, and employees to identify, evaluate, research, and resolve patient grievances, ensuring resolutions are consistent with hospital policies and federal and state regulations. Key aspects of the role include protecting and promoting patient rights and providing feedback for the improvement of patient care systems. The position requires extensive direct interaction with physicians, top management, and dissatisfied patients, necessitating excellent verbal and written communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to make formal presentations, excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, patience, and good judgment.
