About The Position

The Patient Relations Representative at Kindred Hospital Westminster serves as a vital link between patients, families, and clinical staff, ensuring a positive patient experience. This role involves proactive engagement with patients to resolve issues, enhance satisfaction, and facilitate communication among all parties involved in patient care. The representative is responsible for conducting daily rounds, assisting with patient satisfaction surveys, and participating in interdisciplinary meetings to address concerns and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or College degree in progress.
  • Minimum of three years experience in hospitality, guest services, or customer service.
  • LPN preferred; other licensed clinical professionals considered.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).
  • Ability to work well with diverse individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Good organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Detail-oriented, efficient, flexible, and proactive.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily rounds on patients to proactively resolve issues and ensure their experience meets expectations.
  • Assists patients and families with the completion of the satisfaction survey prior to discharge.
  • Attends Interdisciplinary Care Team meetings and actively participates by bringing issues forward for resolution.
  • Makes recommendations for improvement based on patient and family feedback.
  • Provides a link between the hospital, patients, and families, especially in conflict resolution concerning treatment or care.
  • Provides a formal mechanism for the investigation, resolution, and recording of patient complaints.
  • Works a flexible schedule as determined by the CEO, focusing on hours when admissions and family visits are likely.
  • Welcomes newly admitted patients and their families to the hospital.
  • Works with the Admission Coordinator to ensure rooms are prepped and common areas are tour-ready.
  • Ensures new patients receive a completed and standardized Kindred admission kit upon admission.
  • Explains the Heart Service Recovery program to newly admitted patients.
