Requirements

  • High school graduate required; BS, BA, or CHAA preferred.
  • Excellent communication/listening skills.
  • Customer centric approach to engaging with patients and families.
  • Ability to make quick accurate decisions on a daily basis.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Proficient computer skills and aptitude.
  • Problem solving ability and able to handle multiple priorities.
  • FEMA certification required after hire (ED ONLY).
  • Minimum one year experience in pre-certification, registration, hospital, clinics, or physician office environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a resource person and role model for registration staff.
  • Handles escalated situations and interactions requiring expert knowledge.
  • Helps with the coaching of staff.
  • Participates in testing of new workflows and or operational changes.
  • Becomes the System Management Expert in workflows and daily operations.
  • Participates in interviewing and selection of new staff.
  • Maintains current knowledge of insurance requirements, benefit provisions and pre-certification Requirements. Participates in quality improvement.
  • Promotes a cooperative team atmosphere both intra-department as well as inter-department in order to provide the best service to our patients/families.
