About The Position
The Patient Access Liaison at Summa Health System is responsible for interviewing patients in person, either at their workstation or at the bedside, to gather all necessary information for the registration process. This role involves effective communication with patients and their families, guiding them through the registration process, insurance policies, and healthcare benefits. The liaison ensures that patient brochures and registration documents are presented, explained, and completed accurately. They utilize appropriate resources and applications to assign insurance plans, perform insurance eligibility checks, generate patient estimates, and collect co-payments, co-insurances, and deductibles. Additionally, the liaison identifies patients without insurance, provides financial assistance information, and makes referrals to patient financial advocates when necessary. A high level of customer service and a professional presence are essential to create a positive impression of Summa Health.
